L'Oréal: A family succession.
Description
Françoise Bettencourt Meyers officially stepped down as a director of L'Oréal after 28 years of service, at the group's general meeting on 29 April 2025. Her mandate has been transferred to the family holding company Téthys, and she has handed over the vice-chairmanship to her eldest son, Jean-Victor Meyers, who thus becomes the new vice-chairman of L'Oréal. Françoise Bettencourt Meyers remains Chairman of Téthys, the holding company which owns the majority of L'Oréal's shares.
Her son Jean-Victor, already a member of the Board of Directors, officially becomes Vice-Chairman by unanimous vote of the Board. The Bettencourt Meyers family continues to hold 34.76% of L'Oréal's capital, thereby consolidating its influence within the group.
