Virtuous beauty is at the centre of attention. But what exactly are we talking about? NellyRodi has examined the question in the ‘Virtuous Beauty’ study: why this growing interest, how to define it, and what consumers expect of it.
Virtuous beauty is mainly driven by women (83%*), Millennials (40%*) and Gen Z (34%*), in response to increasingly recurrent skin problems and the rise of controversy over product compositions.
Previously, the issues surrounding Virtuous Beauty related almost exclusively to skincare, and even today, 54%* of ‘clean’ products relate to cosmetics. But new product categories are emerging in the discussions, and make-up (22%*) and hair care (9%*) are experiencing a sharp increase.
